When you are in the public relations business, you spend every hour of every day awake thinking about your client’s businesses and promoting their businesses. Because of this, there is rarely time to promote oneself. At least that has been the case for Wendy Hartley since she started HartleyPR in 2011.
Working in the PR world since 2000, Wendy decided in 2021 to take a sabbatical. Her first ever PR boss and Canada PR maven, Mat Wilcox, reminded Wendy that at Wilcox Group (where Wendy got her start) all senior management took a sabbatical at some point.
It was good timing to take a sabbatical given we were in the trenches of a worldwide pandemic.
“Taking a sabbatical in 2021 allowed me to spend a leisure-filled summer in nature with my boys and move my eldest son into his first year of University without a laptop stuck to my side,” says Wendy Hartley. “It also allowed me to step back and re-prioritize, and make important updates to our web site – https://hartleypr.com/. There are so many people I want to thank for continually supporting HartleyPR and I’m beyond excited for what the future holds including AMAZING new clients we are working with in 2022.”
